Several technology providers have adopted MPEG-4 including Apple, who adopted MPEG-4 Simple Visual Profile and Advanced Audio Coding for its QuickTime platform and RealNetworks, who supports decoding of MPEG-4 content, and the popular DivX codec are also MPEG-4 compliant. In fact, most - if not all - of the major streaming players support, either natively or through plug-ins, the MPEG-4 standard in their currently deployed infrastructure and products. In this session panelists will be invited to share their predictions of how streaming media technology will evolve in the years ahead, and particularly the fate of MPEG-4.
