Christian Timmerer is the CIO | Head of Research and Standardisation at bitmovin and Assoc. Prof. at Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt. He chaired the evaluation of the responses to the MPEG call for proposals that led to MPEG-DASH and provided the world-first open source implementations of the DASH standard. He's also running a blog which reports on MPEG & DASH on a regular basis. Recently, he co-founded a company bitmovin to provide products and services around DASH. bitmovin revised the open source library libdash which now fully supports the MPEG-DASH standard. bitmovin is also a member of MPEG and the DASH Industry Forum.
